Lesson 1: Greetings and Introductions
Objectives:
1. Learn basic greetings and introductions in English.
2. Practice using proper greetings and introductions in interactive conversations.
3. Develop listening and speaking skills in English.
Materials:
- Flashcards or visuals with greetings and introductions phrases.
- Whiteboard and markers.
- Pictures of different people for role play.
Procedure:
1. Warm-up (5 minutes):
- Begin the class by greeting the students in English.
- Review any previous lessons related to greetings or introductions.
2. Introduction (5 minutes):
- Show the flashcards or visuals with greetings and introductions phrases.
- Introduce and explain the meaning and usage of each phrase.
- Model the pronunciation and encourage students to repeat after you.
3. Vocabulary Practice (10 minutes):
- Divide the class into pairs or small groups.
- Distribute the pictures of people to each group.
- In turns, students will pretend to be the person in the picture and greet and introduce themselves to their partners using the phrases learned.
- Monitor and assist students during the activity.
- Encourage students to use complete sentences and correct pronunciation.
4. Role Play Activity (15 minutes):
- Divide the class into pairs or small groups.
- Assign different scenarios for the role play (e.g., meeting a new classmate, meeting a teacher, meeting a friend at the park, etc.).
- Allow students time to prepare their role play scripts using the greetings and introductions phrases.
- Have each pair or group perform their role play in front of the class.
- Provide feedback and praise for their efforts.
5. Wrap-up and Extension (5 minutes):
- Recap the lesson and review the greetings and introductions phrases.
- Assign the students to practice using the phrases with their family members or friends outside of class.
- Encourage students to use English greetings and introductions in their daily interactions.
Lesson 2: Numbers and Counting
Objectives:
1. Learn numbers 1-100 in English.
2. Practice counting objects and understanding the concept of quantity in English.
3. Develop listening and speaking skills in English.
Materials:
- Flashcards or visuals with numbers 1-100.
- Whiteboard and markers.
Procedure:
1. Warm-up (5 minutes):
- Begin the class by reviewing the greetings learned from the previous lesson.
- Ask students to count from 1 to 10 in English.
2. Introduction (5 minutes):
- Show the flashcards or visuals with numbers 1-100.
- Introduce and explain the pronunciation and meaning of each number.
- Model the pronunciation and encourage students to repeat after you.
3. Vocabulary Practice (10 minutes):
- Divide the class into pairs or small groups.
- Distribute a set of flashcards with numbers 1-10 to each group.
- In turns, students will hold up a flashcard and say the number out loud.
- Monitor and assist students during the activity.
- Encourage students to pronounce the numbers clearly and accurately.
4. Counting Activity (15 minutes):
- Show pictures of different objects or use real objects in the classroom.
- Ask students to count the objects in English.
- For example, "How many pencils are there?" Students should respond, "There are five pencils."
- Repeat with different sets of objects.
5. Wrap-up and Extension (5 minutes):
- Recap the numbers learned in the lesson.
- Assign the students to practice counting objects at home and report their findings in the next class.
- Encourage students to use English numbers in their daily life, such as counting stairs, counting toys, etc.
