Title: My Family

一年级英语教学设计案例

Grade level: 1st grade

Subject: English

Time: 40 minutes

Learning objectives:

1. Students will be able to identify and name family members in English.

2. Students will be able to describe their family members using simple sentences.

3. Students will practice asking and answering questions about family members.

Materials needed:

- Pictures or flashcards of family members

- Whiteboard or blackboard

- Markers or chalk

- Handout with simple sentence structures

Procedure:

Introduction (5 minutes):

1. Greet the students and introduce the topic of family members.

2. Show the flashcards or pictures of family members and ask if they know the names in English.

3. Introduce the new vocabulary: mother, father, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather.

Presentation (10 minutes):

1. Write the new vocabulary words on the board and pronounce them clearly for the students.

2. Show the flashcards or pictures one by one and have the students repeat the names after you.

3. Use gestures or body movements to help students understand the meanings of the words.

4. Practice pronunciation by saying the words together as a class.

Practice (15 minutes):

1. Divide the students into small groups.

2. Give each group a set of flashcards or pictures of family members.

3. In their groups, students take turns asking and answering questions about the family members shown on the cards.

4. Encourage students to use complete sentences, such as "Is he your brother?" or "She is my grandmother."

5. Walk around the classroom, monitoring the students' progress and providing assistance as needed.

Consolidation (10 minutes):

1. Bring the class back together and review the vocabulary words by showing the flashcards or pictures again.

2. Have a short discussion with the class about their own families.

3. Ask students to share one interesting fact about a family member and use a complete sentence to describe them.

4. Write the sentences on the board as the students share them.

5. Have the students practice reading the sentences aloud together as a class.

Conclusion (5 minutes):

1. Summarize the lesson by reviewing the vocabulary words and the sentence structures.

2. Ask the students if they have any questions or if there is anything they didn't understand.

3. Encourage students to practice using the new vocabulary and sentence structures at home with their families.

Extension:

1. As an extension activity, students can create a simple family tree using drawings or pictures of their own family members. They can label each family member and practice speaking about them using the vocabulary and sentence structures learned in the lesson.
